BBC Total Wipeout Team Rise to the "It's a Knockout" Challenge for NACC
On Sunday 25 July 2010, a team made up of contestants from BBC One's extreme game show "Total Wipeout", will be rising to the challenge and competing in the first "It's a Knockout" event to be held by the National Association for Colitis & Crohn's Disease (NACC) to raise awareness of Crohn's and Colitis.

NACC becomes Crohn's and Colitis UK
The National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease, known affectionately to the 31,000 members as NACC, has changed its name and logo. Having put the new name and logo to the membership at the AGM in Newcastle on 22nd May, the charity became Crohn's and Colitis UK on 15th June 2010

The First World IBD Day hits the UK
National and International awareness of IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease - Colitis and Crohn’s Disease) grows across the UK. The National Association for Colitis and Crohn's (NACC) is rolling out Colitis & Crohn's (IBD)'Month during May, including the BBC Radio 4 Appeal, major fundraising Walks and involvement in the first World IBD Day. The array of events includes two large city Walks, the first in London and the second in York on the 23rd May, plus a multitude of NACC Group awareness events and fundraising activities all around the country.

Risk of venous thromboembolism in inflammatory bowel disease
Following publication of research in the LANCET on 10th February 2010, about an increased risk of blood clotting for people who have Inflammatory Bowel Disease, NACC's Medical Advisers have produced an explanatory statement for journalists and patients.

NACC launches Media Resource Pack for local RED HOT Day 2008 events Local Event Media Release template NACC'S RED HOT DAY is on 7th November 2008 – We invite all our supporters to take part and have RED Hot Fun on 7th November. We would be delighted to support your event by sending you our RED Hot Day pack which includes balloons, posters, product and information leaflets, press release and banners if required. Please help us spread the word about Colitis & Crohn's, and raise awareness of NACC and funds to help us continue our work. One way you can do that more effectly than we can is to send a press release to your local newspapers and invite photogrophers to your event or organise a pre event photo session wearing RED wigs, wellies, socks, ribbons, gloves, ties – anything silly that will catch the attention of the media will do nicely! A personal story more often than not is of interest to the media – if you feel this is something you would like to do why no ask you local paper or radio station to interview you prior to the event? New Gene for Ulcerative Colitis
A UK multi-centre study published in the journal Nature Genetics today identifies a new gene for ulcerative colitis – one of the first to be confirmed for this condition – and in a decisive breakthrough establishes a series of genetic links between the inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
